Covered below are a number of Frequently Asked Questions including details on postage, postal insurance, payment terms, lead times, guarantees, discounts and other topics.
If you have a question which is not listed below, please contact me direct and I will reply as soon as possible.
Q: Can any bike be painted as a replica or just the ones on the website?
A: Practically anyone's bike can be done. In some cases I may need some photographs to copy from in order to get the detail as accurate as possible but as yet I haven't found a bike i can't do!
Q: How can I send photographs and will I get them back?
A: You can send them by email or by post by first of all going to the contact me page. If you send them by post I will return the photos with your bike or if a bike is not ordered, they will still be returned.
Q: I would like a bike doing of my favourite rider but I don't have any pictures. What can I do?
A: I may be able to search for the pictures myself or I may already have pictures of the bike in question so please contact me if this is the case.
Q: How long does it take to do a bike?
A: Usually it takes between 2 and 3 weeks but in quieter or busier periods this can vary. If you would like a more accurate time please ask when ordering.
Q: What are the payment terms?
A: Payment can be made by PayPal by clicking on the relevant links on this site or if within the UK, personal cheques and postal orders are also accepted. Please contact me if you wish to pay by cheque or postal order.
All payments must be made in advance and must be in Pounds Sterling only. I will also accept cash in GBP but this is at senders own risk and is not recommended.
Q: I am not a member of PayPal. How do i become a member?
A: To sign up for PayPal is easy and transactions are 100% secure. It is free to join and you don't pay any fees as a buyer. The seller pays all the fees. To sign up for PayPal click here and follow the on-screen instructions.
Q: Are discounts available for multiple purchases?
A: Yes. If you order 2 or more bikes in one transaction I can offer a discount.
Q: Can I buy these to sell at my track shop or as rider/club merchandise?
A: Yes. I can offer a very reasonable price for multiple orders of the same bike design which you are welcome to sell on if you wish. Please go to the contact me page for a price.
Alternatively you can enquire about becoming an agent or outlet to sell on your website on a commission basis. You can still click on the link above to contact me regarding this.
Q: How accurate is the detail on the bikes?
A: You will struggle to find a more accurately detailed model of a speedway bike anywhere. Each one is copied from photographs using enamel based paints and is done as exact as possible, then sponsors names, logos, etc are added. Finally, the bikes are finished off with a thin coat of clear lacquer to protect the new livery.
Q: How are the logos and detail done on the bikes and could you advise me on how to do it?
A: I have had numerous requests for the information on how the logos and detail is done on the bikes. Unfortunately, I am not able to divulge this information so please don't be offended or disappointed if you ask.
Q: What happens if I am not happy with my bike?
A: As of yet I have had no complaints about the quality of my models, in fact most of my customers say the bikes exceed their expectation. If, however, you are not totally satisfied, please contact me within 7 days of receipt and I will be happy to help in any way possible.
Q: Is my bike covered for loss or damage in the postal process?
A: Yes, each parcel is covered up to a maximum value of £32.00. As postage is free on most items I only use the basic postal service (1st class, AirMail, etc). If you would like to ensure that your bike is covered for loss or damage over £32.00, please contact me as this will incur a small fee to cover the cost. For instance, if you ordered 3 bikes and they are sent together, the insurance will only cover £32.00 for all three bikes. There are several Royal Mail services which vary in price. However, I should point out that as yet, I have not had a bike go missing or get damaged in the postal process. (Touch wood!)
Please note: I have recently been informed by the Post Office that items travelling to USA or Canada cannot be insured above the standard £32.00, so please bear in mind there is no extra cover for these items and any loss or damage can and will only be covered for a maximum of £32.00.
Q: Is my bike guaranteed, and if so, how long for?
A: The bikes themselves are not guaranteed by myself. Although they are quite robust, damage to any part of the bike after it is received will not be under guarantee. However, I do guarantee my work, which includes any defects to the paintwork or decals. This is guaranteed for up to 12 months from purchase from no-brakes-uk. Should you experience any problems I will do all I can to help.
Please note: Fluorescent paints will fade in direct sunlight and should be kept away from windows, etc. Over time, the fluorescent paints will slowly fade naturally but this will be accelerated by exposure to sunlight and in extreme cases can completely fade in as little as a week. If bikes with fluorescent colours are left in direct sunlight, I cannot be held responsible for the effect it has on the colours.
