About us...

no-brakes-uk is a relatively new name in Speedway but we are quickly building a reputation for our quality hand-painted models where attention to detail is second to none. From the very first hand-painted Maisto bike, a Jason Crump 2006 model which was auctioned on ebay, to the latest ones, every bike receives the same attention to detail for a quality finish.

The very early models were done completely by hand-painting the designs and logos. All our models, although still individually hand-painted, now have professional model decals for a superb finish. All our models are finished with a clear lacquer to protect the livery.

All the bikes are unique to us and are not available anywhere else at present, although we are currently considering outlets and agents to sell on our behalf. All the models come complete with display plinth which is easily detachable if required, plus a free certificate with production number and official stamp. They are supplied in their original Maisto boxes inside sturdy cardboard boxes, and surrounded in bubble-wrap.

For a small extra charge you can also add a custom plinth sticker with your own wording, to replace the standard gold Maisto ones.

Gift vouchers are also available in various quantities and make an ideal present for Birthdays, Christmas and of course, Father's Day!

Almost any bike livery (we haven't turned one down yet!) can be reproduced in 1:18 scale on these already finely detailed models of around 120cm in length. From Grand Prix, World Cup and Elite League bikes to Premier League, Conference league and even unknown riders liveries.

Most of the current top stars' bikes can be done without a hitch as photographs can be easily obtained. For example, if you wished to order a Simon Stead 2007 bike, although I have yet to do one of these I could easily find photos from which to copy the livery.

If ordering a lesser photographed bike, you may need to email or post any pictures you possibly can. Posted photos are always returned safe and sound. If you do not have any photos of your intended bike, please fill in the enquiry form before ordering to confirm it is possible to do. We may already have or be able to find enough suitable to copy from.

If the bike in question is your own or belongs to someone you know, four main photographs are usually enough; one of each side, one of the front and one showing the rear of the saddle. This is to ensure the detail is as true to the original as possible.

In our 2007 prices page, we now have a full list of bikes you can order for £45.00 with free postage. These bikes do not require photographs as the artwork has already been set up.
